Ever wonder how custom foot orthotics are made? As you know everyone’s foot is different. It’s just like a fingerprint. No two feet are the same.
So when major foot problems pop up, many times the best option is to have an orthotic specifically customized for your foot.
You can use inserts as well and those will help, but if you need more help the custom is the way to go.
So when you have a custom foot orthotic done it takes more time than just slipping in an insert into your shoe.
The custom orthotic needs to be specifically designed to your foot. So there needs to be a way to perfectly capture the shape of your foot.
So I use a very specific process where I wrap plaster around your feet, then use a plastic bag and vacuum to seal the mold tightly to your foot.
That way it gives the most accurate casting for your foot.
